Summary of Work and Project History
Bill Lockley of Lockley Engineering completed an indentured electrical apprenticeship in 1984 in-conjunction with attending Wollongong University as a degree trainee with Kembla Coal and Coke. During this period Bill worked as an apprentice, an electrician and finally a shift electrical engineer at Vale Engineering, Coal Cliff and Darkesforest Collieries.
In 1989 Bill was employed by the Mining and Materials Department of GEC Projects based at Milperra, NSW. The significant project at that time was the upgrade of the Alcoa Pt Henry's Pot Line Cranes.
At the end of 1989 through to October 2004 Bill was employed by Boral. Below is a list of some of the roles and responsibilities undertaken by Bill whilst at Boral;
1989 – 1990. BCSC Maldon’s No.3 Kiln Re-commissioning. Electrical Project Engineer Project Value $10M
1991. BCSC Marulan’s Hydration Plant Upgrade. Lead Electrical Engineer. Project Value $3M
1992. Various projects including the Boral Flyash Project at Eraring Power Station.
1993. BCSC Waurn Ponds Tyre Burning Project. Project Value $2M
1993 – 2000. BCSC Maldon. Electrical Superintendent
2000. BCSC Marulan. Marulan Lime Kiln Preheater Installation. Lead Electrical Engineer / Commissioning Manager. Project Value $15M
